The story is set in a Victorian school and is based upon the public school-days of a boy called Tom Brown. Tom Browns was the property of Stuart & Eileen Perkins for sixteen years. However, it only became a Brasserie in November 1998 and in 2001, the family business was taken over by their two sons, Adam & Robin Perkins. Building on the restaurant's renowned reputation for quality and value, Tom Browns has recently gone from strength to strength; being awarded 'runners-up' for the past two year's as the 'Best Out-of-Town Restaurant in Nottingham', and in 2006 was acclaimed by a prestigious entry within the current Egon Ronay Guide.  Our no-smoking restaurant boasts a mezzanine floor area with wonderful river views. Always looking to improve our ambience, in January 2005, we have added a brand new lounge bar, which is not only light and airy, but is also the perfect setting for our customers to relax in, either before or after their meals.
